Electromagnetic field calculation and analysis of short primary linear induction motor for electromagnetic launch

The aim of this study is to determine the electromagnetic field spatial distribution and longitudinal end effect characteristics short primary linear induction motor (SPLIM) in launch. First, accordance model assumption SPLIM one-dimensional theory, analytical expression whole-region magnetic flux density air-gap derived using boundary conditions line with actual physical meaning. Second, finite element method used comparing calculation values key quantities, such as secondary eddy current a multidimensional manner under various static dynamic working verifying correctness field. On basis, decomposed according different generation mechanisms, each part studied. Spatial Fourier analysis conducted, coefficient defined, change rule design parameters Finally, megawatt-class high thrust prototype test platform was built, measured force compared calculated by air gap current. steady-state error two less than 2%, which verified accuracy calculation.
